Analyze Your Data

Because every piece of data is stored in its own field, you can analyze data in a number of ways. Allegiance is highly functional, providing a wide range of built in reports as well as custom reports that allow for sophisticated data analysis of single campaigns or multiple campaigns conducted over time.

Allegiance offers 5 types of analysis reports. Up to 999 user-defined reports can be created for each type. You can save your parameters and select them to run at any time. All Allegiance reports can be printed or downloaded into spreadsheets.

Account Analysis reports answer the questions: “How many donors are ___?” and “What kind of donors are these?” This is an extremely flexible report allowing you to select from 147 fields in addition to your user-defined fields in appended data. You can use these fields alone or combine them to create countless possible reports.

The Standard Count Report shows the number of donors currently in each of the nine donor statuses. These status totals are automatically calculated by Allegiance.

The History Averages Report lists giving history averages of each of the categories of donors selected. These include original gifts, renewals, upgrades, giving levels and additional gifts.

Pledge Analysis reports answer the questions: “How many pledges did we get?”, “How many pledges did we get from this type of donor ?” and “What kind of pledges are these?” You can select from 198 fields in addition to your user-defined fields in appended data. You can use these fields alone or combine them to create countless possible reports. These reports are not only designed for pledge drives but also email, mail and telemarketing campaigns. This is the main report used to analyze the success of all solicitations.

The Detailed Pledge Fulfillment Report breaks out pledges five ways and shows amounts pledged, written off, overdue, future due and projected fulfillment. One page will print for each combination of fields entered by the user. For instance, if you select each day of the pledge drive, you will get one page for each day.

The Summary Pledge Fulfillment Report is similar to the Detailed Fulfillment Report but prints one line for each combination of fields selected.

The Pledge Type Count Summary Report summarizes a count of donors by the type of pledge money counted as: new, renewal, expired, additional gift or matching gift.

The Pledge Mode Payment Summary Report summarizes the data by solicitation type and method of payment including credit card information.

The Dollars Per Minute Report will only work with pledge drive source codes. Shows dollars per minute pledged and paid by the selected criteria of the user.

The Cost Report analyzes your rate of return on fundraising activities such as mass mailings. Information in the source code table, including costs and number of pieces sent, is used to calculate the return on your investment.

The Matching Report (requires the Matching Gift Module) analyzes income from companies matching individual pledges.

Payment Analysis reports can be used when you want to answer the question: “How much money did we deposit?” You can select from 184 fields in addition to your user-defined fields in appended data. These reports are commonly used to compare to projections and previous years, and for interfacing to general ledger if an automatic interfacing is not used.

The Standard Payment Summary Report shows the total amount of cash and number of transactions along with the average. It is itemized by lump sum and installment.

The Pledge Type Payment Summary Report summarizes for each type of pledge the money counted as: new, renewal, expired, additional gift or matching.

The Pledge Mode Payment Summary Report summarizes the data by method and frequency of payment.

Profile Analysis reports should be used when you want to answer the question “What is the response rate and what kind of people responded to our solicitation?” You can select from 222 fields to analyze any solicitation that was initiated from your database. Allegiance stores the required information at the time the solicitation is generated.

The Renewal Profile Report shows how each selected category of people renewed. It lists the number solicited, number responded, amount pledged, response rate, average upgrade and amount paid.

The Additional Gift Profile Report shows how each selected category responded to the additional gift appeal. It lists the average gift, number responded, and percent responded.

Lifetime Analysis reports should be used when you want to answer the questions: “How long am I retaining members in the database?” or, “After the initial investment in direct mail, how long does it take to make a net profit?” or, “What’s the lifetime value of a pledge acquired member versus a direct mail acquired member?” or, “How might newly-acquired members behave based on long-term tracking of members acquired in the same way?”

The Lifetime Analysis Report (LIFE) breaks out the selected information by each joining year. Information such as number of joining members, total joining amount, amount of additional gift dollars, total annual gifts, and percent of renewal, are a few of the items that are included in this report.

The Lifetime Analysis Report by Methods gives you the same information plus, for every line listed on the report, you get a one-page detail report of each year. For example, if you ran a report that had five years of data, you would receive the LIFE report plus 5 one-page detail reports with breakdowns by pledge type, methods, and joining amount for each year. This information would help you answer a question like: “How did the new members acquired through acquisition telemarketing in 2002 renew in the subsequent years (methods) and what was the renewal rate, upgrade average, etc.?”

A “Major Donor Activity Report” details every transaction that occurs on major donor or prospect accounts, and pertinent information such as last renewal amount, lifetime giving, number of years, highest giving level, current giving level, current renewal amount, etc.
